Choosing between a traditional red dot optic or a magnified optic has always been a tough choice. Low power variable optics (LPVO) have somewhat bridged the differences between the two optic choices. An LPVO gives the shooter the best of both worlds and for the case of the MSR 1-10 it gives the shooter the ability to shoot at 1X with an illuminated reticle (similiar experience to a tradition red dot) or at 10X or anywhere in between. This means the shooter can engage targets at close range then with the quick throw of a lever can easily engage targets at several hundred yards.
The Sig Sauer MSR 1-10x28mm is a value packed LPVO with a phenomenal 1-10X range, illuminated reticle, 34mm tube and a ALPHA-MSR one piece mount which is all included in the box. The 34mm tube is a size that generally isn’t seen on optics at this price range. The 34mm tube results in a larger field of view when compared with a 30mm or 1″.
