Double stack 1911s have blown up in popularity of the past several years. We were leery of the Prodigy when it first came out. However, after several thousand rounds and two different test samples it has earned our trust.Â
We do recommend a 500rd cleaning interval for the Prodigy, as anything much over 500 would result in some reliability issues. This is something that can be expected for most 1911 style of firearms, which have much tighter tolerances when compared to more mass produced polymer framed striker fired handguns. The 4.25″ barrel length was favorable in our experience when compared to the 5″.Â
